Established in 1985

 As of March 1, 2023, we will not be offering tours. We have sold our farm. We are still in the business, but have retired from the day to day operation of our farm. We want to thank all of our visitors for their kind reviews and comments over the past 5 years.

Barry & Jan were married in 1985, and wasted no time in pursuing their dream of owning thoroughbreds--  one of their very first purchases was acquired on their honeymoon trip to New York City.

A lifetime involvement in various businesses, including a stint as a small town General Motors dealer, laid the foundation for Barry and Jan to follow their true passion, developing Sun Valley Farm-Kentucky in 1997.

Fast forward twenty years and Sun Valley Farm has remained a family-owned and operated Thoroughbred nursery, responsible for selling and exporting the dams of more than 200 stakes horses worldwide.  

Our primary focus is developing the Thoroughbred athlete that is healthy, happy and leads a productive and successful life.  The individual achievements of our horses, support this hands-on horsemanship, that is practiced at Sun Valley Farm each and every day.
